ZERO RATING!!! DSTV ARE *****ING MONEY!!!

I am just about pulling my hair out with this company and I don’t know why they are allowed to do the ******* things they are doing!!!

At the end of July, I asked to connect to a compact package. I was quoted R439.00 as a price lock for 24 months which I agreed to and asked them to activate. I made the payment but then was asked to pay a R188.79 access fee in order for my PVR function to be activated. Fair enough, I went ahead and made the payment. I also sent through a signed debit order sheet asking for my deduction to be made on the 26th of each month. This is on the signed document which was sent through prior to activation.

It gets to the 26th of August, no debit order goes off. I check the DSTV app and my balance due is R609.00! After multiple back and forth via Facebook messenger(no one gives their full name fyi) I was then told that my Price Lock was never activated and asked if I wanted to go ahead with it. This is incredibly concerning as I sent through a signed document with confidential details, only to be told this wasn’t processed??? So who has my document?! I was also told the agreement was to debit on the 28th which I have zero idea where they got this information from.

I have asked repeatedly what my monthly fee will be but no one can confirm this.

I have now been told that I have insurance activated on 2 routers(I’ve only used one router). Nowhere in the agreement phase did I ask for insurance.

Surely it’s ******* for a company to add packages to an account without the customers consent? How long have they been getting away with *****ing peoples money?

I eventually thought I had this rectified but I am still given the run around.

I agreed to pay R439.00 as per the price lock agreement, this is in writing, so how can this company ask me to pay more than what was proposed BY THEM??!!!

My account was just debited for R609.00. PLEASE SEE THAT THIS IS REVERSED IMMEDIATELY!!! I am now liable for the banking charges for this transaction. This is *******!!!!!

I was not advised I would receive a call today. I’ve been in meetings all day.

Furthermore, I did not request insurance. The second decoder has not been in use for years.

So my account was deducted in error. I am requested to send through a statement confirming the payment went off. I send through a statement only to be told it’s insufficient and I need to go into the bank to get a statement of only the debit order?! Please can you ask Absa to create the option for online users? Why should I, the consumer, take time out of my busy work day to stand in a queue at the bank for a statement of a debit which was made in error by you?! I’ve worked in accounting, I know you can simply pull up a statement and see that my statement, the payment and date matches yours.

It’s absolutely disgusting that this company gets away with *****ing money from people and what’s even worse is that the amount deducted was far higher than my premium!!
