Urgent Feedback on DSTV Client Service Experience
Good day DSTV Team,
I am writing to express my deep frustration with the ongoing issues I have been experiencing since December 2025. As a long-standing client, I expect a certain level of service, but recently my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.
The most concerning aspect is your Live Chat client service. It has been consistently disappointing, leaving me to wonder whether agents are unwilling, untrained, or simply indifferent to client concerns.
On 27 December 2025, I engaged with an agent named Ellen regarding my Disney+ subscription. Despite making payment that morning, I received a notification that my subscription had expired. I repeatedly explained that I was unable to access Disney+, yet the agent insisted I contact Disney directly. Disney support confirmed that no payment reflected on their side and advised me to resolve the matter with DSTV, as you are the administrator.
I requested escalation to a team leader, only to be told that team leaders can see chats but cannot make outbound calls. I even asked if a team leader could intervene directly in the chat, given my frustration and the screenshots I was sharing. Eventually, only after Disney support called me and we jointly engaged with the DSTV agent, was the issue resolved by unlinking and relinking my subscription.
On 14 January 2026, I attempted Live Chat again and the experience was even worse. The agent failed to address my query about a missing episode on my streaming service, instead asking if I wanted to upgrade my package. Later, the agent mentioned escalating my concern about the THOLiUPsize promotion not being activated despite my payment on 27 December. Just as I thought progress was being made, the chat ended abruptly with a “thank you” message and a service rating prompt—without confirming whether my issue had been resolved.
This raises serious questions:
- What is the true purpose of DSTV Live Chat if agents are not adequately trained or equipped to resolve client issues?
- Why do team leaders and quality assurance staff not intervene when conversations clearly show unresolved problems and escalating frustration?
Your current client service experience is horrifying and unacceptable. As a loyal customer, I expect far better.
My rating of your service: 0/10.
DSTV urgently needs to improve its client service standards.
