UnHappy customer

The schools are close and it's impossible to watch dstv because it's boring. I cannot change channels every five minured. What are we paying for to be bored? Stop repeating everyday movies and boring movies. Saturday it's even worse there is nothing to watch except soccer world cup. Please do ur reviews check Etv they are content is much better when it comes to the latest movies on weekends.

Good day Nompumelelo

Thank you for sharing your concern with us.

Our focus in the past year has been to offer our customers fresher content more often. We integrated M-Net Edge and M-Net into a single channel, with an extended prime time with no repeats from 6pm to 12am every day. We consolidated our movie offering so our customers see more new movies more often. Also, we asked our overseas channel partners to refresh their content too.

To give our customers an enhanced and curated movie viewing experience, we offered some of these movies available on DStv Catch Up Plus and Catch Up and on our DStv Now service.

We added several channels to our DStv packages, including more HD channels. These channels included Sundance TV in HD which features festival films, Fear the Walking Dead and Into the Badlands; Ginx an e-Sports channel; M-Net Binge channel in HD to give our customers the chance to create their own boxsets.

Our research has shown that customers tend to watch a lot of the same shows and channels. It’s possible that there might be other content available; you just weren’t aware of it (so we’ll help you discover other scintillating stuff).

That’s not to say that we don’t acknowledge that there’s content on your package you don’t care for; but it comes back to making packages affordable. We should bundle channels together to spread the costs, so inevitably, there may be shows on your package you just won’t watch, or aren’t watching now. We feel it’s a fair trade-off in exchange for having affordable content.

With so much more content to choose from, it’s become essential to help you find your favourite shows and movies – or find content you didn’t even know you would like.

We have a range of tools you can use to plan your viewing:

  • There is a searchable TV Guide on the DStv Now app with the ability to set reminders.
  • You can access a digital version of the DStv magazine on DStv.com under the menu option on The Guide menu tab.
  • There are playlists available under The Guide, and upcoming attractions and highlights.
  • You can subscribe to the DStv email newsletters for highlights delivered to your inbox every Wednesday.
  • Your decoder's search function can search by “New Movies” or “New Series”, do a themed search or a keyword search, and an A-Z search of channels that have loads of new seasons, programming stunts or specials.

Kind regards

Dinah

To sum all u said u are talking about premium customers. I thought u cater for all bouquet and including compact. Dstv is made for different types of people and we are all paying for what we can afford but it doesn't mean we have to pay for old repeats from TCM to all stars. There are no weekend movies and all u think of is premium customer with catch ups and Mnet movies, what about other services?
