Unhappy customer

In June we contacted Multichoice to cancel our commercial subscription. We received our customer number (as we rarely get statements), drafted our letter and sent it in – as per normal 30-days cancellation procedure. We were billed in arrears as per normal on 01 July 2016 and thought this was it. Low and behold we had ANOTHER deduction off our account 01 August 2016. On contacting the centre the account was NOT cancelled. We spoke to Gugu and it was rectified, so we thought. 01 September ANOTHER deduction went off, yet we phoned again and it was “rectified”. On 01 October ANOTHER deduction went off THIS time around we phoned again and was told, that although we had ONE consolidated debit order being deducted off our bank account, that we had TWO ACCOUNT NUMBERS.

This was news to us, we were under the impression the accounts were consolidated, the same as the debit orders. So essentially, from June 2016 we wasted our time, efforts, phone calls to the call centres and we are +- R10k out of pocket. With no help from the call centre. All they tell us is, BECAUSE we (we were notified about the second account only in OCTOBER) sent in a written cancellation notice in October that 01 November our last debit order went off.

This stated:- we phoned on 01 November to query this and only AFTER we spoke to Mariska did she suspend/cancel the accounts, as this was NOT done as per written notice.

We would like Multichoice to contact us in this regard and expect our +-R 10k to be reversed and refunded to us.

Case number: # **********
