Unfair consumer practice
I'm displeased with how multichoice SA is rendering their services. I am currently on a price lock plan for two years meaning I'll be paying a certain amount of money for two years and not affected by their annual increase of tariffs. The terms of our agreement states that multichoice will debit R595 monthly on the 1st day of each month of which on 01.09.2019 not debit was taken even though there's money in my bank account. All of a sudden I receive a text from multichoice stating they will debit R1199 on the 13.09.2019. I find this as an unfair business practice and a bridge of contract. When you call or email multichoice they tell your matter has been escalated and you'll get a response within eight working days but when they take your money without your permission it only takes them a few seconds. I am going code the consumers act for YOU multichoice and tell you that you you take my money without my permission or outside our payment agreement terms I'm going to escalate this matter to the national consumers commission Consumers protection act number 68 of 2008 states, service providers should;
°Establish national laws and standards to ensure consumers protection;
°Make provision for improved standards for consumers information to prohibit certain unfair makerting and business practices;
°Promote a consistent legislative and enforcement framework, related to consumers transactions and agreements.
