Unacceptable damage by DStv (MultiChoice) recommended repairer Aerialworld and Cable SAT Installations

Unacceptable damage by a Multichoice/DSTV contractor On or about 31st August 2018 I called Multichoice/DSTV service call centre to report faulty signal. Through a process of diagnostics questions and answers the call centre agent was able to determine the fault was my aerial signal. I asked the agent to recommend Multichoice/DSTV accredited aerial contractor for the repairs. The name recommended as Aerialworld on telephone number ********** 052. I called Aerialworld on 3rd Septemeber and confirmed by SMS to attend to my problem. We agreed to an appointment on 4th September. A certain Sachin attended my house to repair the problem. They gave me a verbal quote which I accepted and they proceeded with the repair. Sachin did not use a ladder to access the aerial fitted onto the base of the stone chimney on the thatch roof of house, but chose to climb up from the patio onto the thatch roof by walking on the thatch and damaging the thatch roof. I paid the invoice ref #87 from Cable SAT Installations on the 5th September in good faith without seeing the outcome of the repairs. On the 10th September upon my return from my travels I was horrified to see the amateurish workmanship and damage that had been caused to my roof. I notified the person on number ********** 052 and sent photographs of the damaged and asked that it be repaired as soon as possible because of the likelihood the roof would now leak. I was called by Sachin and received text apology and he undertook to have the roof repaired. I notified him that a specialist thatch roof contractor will be required and not anyone could repair the roof. However he may visit the house to inspect the damage. Since the 10th September and now as of 1st October after several attempts to get AerialWorld or Sachin to come and repair the damage I have been unsuccessful. I should like Multichoice to suspend Aerialworld or Cable SAT Installations as an accredited contractor until such time as my roof is repaired. I’m very disappointed that Multichoice/DSTV having not properly accredited their recommended contractors and as a result I have suffered damages. All Multichoice/DSTV users are cautioned to avoid using this approved repairer because of the poor standards and work ethic and lack of integrity and their failure to keep their undertaking to make good the repairs. I shall be considering taking legal action against Aerialworld and Sachin to recover my cost of the damages unless Multichoice/DSTV are able to convince their accredited contractor to honour the undertaking.
