Transfer Of ownership

Multichoice is giving me a hard time for change of ownership for a second hand explora I bought. They told her that she must complete the transfer of ownership form and her passport and provide it to the new owner of the explora which is exactly what she did. Now they tell me that they cannot accept her passport unless if she comes into thier offices to complete the transfer.

I have attached the transfer of ownership form and it states that certified copies of ID/passport of present and new owner are required nothing about ID only being used and passport requires clients to walk in. If they have terms and conditions these must be clearly stipulated on the documentation not stated verbally as an after thought when trying to complete the transfer.

Dear Lefa, We tried to contact you today but could not reach you. It was not possible to trace your DStv account. Due to security reasons, the old owner has to produce the original copy of her passport with all the required documents at the nearest MultiChoice branch or agency for the change of ownership. Our intension is to ensure that your request is processed and that we adhere to security measures. Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Kind regards Dinah
