There are Many Alternative Choices to Multichoice
We have been a premium Multichoice subscriber for years.
Recently we changed subscription choices a couple of times and traveled overseas in July coupled with the fact that Multichoice changed the outlook of its website have caused some confusion regarding the over/under payment.
In September, our DSTV premium with Extra View was disconnected and I made a call to Multichoice in an attempt to understand where went wrong. The consultant from Multichoice was drowning my voice in the call. I then received an email from a manager requesting feedback. I stated what I experienced and received no response from the manager. With the matter unresolved, I left the DSTV disconnected as I was unsatisfied with their services; have fire internet installed in place to watch stream live channels; and have already signed up with Netflix for an excellent service at a fraction of the cost compared to my premium DSTV subscription with an Extra View.
On Monday, 15 October 2018, I received a call from Blake Associate chasing up outstanding payment around R200 - a fraction of an amount that I have been paying monthly for years. I disclosed that there was a confusion and assured that I will be the payment by the end of the month and requested a statement in order to understand where it went wrong. I made a payment the next day before I even received the statement. In return, I received an email from Blake Associate requesting personal information that were not discussed in the phone call, which incl. Company name, Occupation and Salary Date - none of these were discussed in the call with Blake Associate - what an insult for a mere payment around R200 due to confusion caused despite the fact that I have been paying close to R1000 every month for years. Unfortunately I have to say that Multichoice is not a business that values its premium customers. I am affraid to say that there exist MANY ALTERNATIVE CHOICES since the installation of fibre cables around the country is on the way for a wide variety of direct streaming channels - as customers, we do not need to continue putting our money to the middle man like Multichoice. We are academics and will make an effort to inform our family, friends, students and colleagues of the alternative choices to DSTV such as Netflix which offers competitive services with much less cost because they deserve a better service for their entertainment and we will not support DSTV any longer.
