The REAL reason DSTV is losing clients.......
So about 2 years ago I stopped my DSTV subsribtion because of the high cost of the premium package but decided to give them another go a few months ago. I only took the R100 package, 4 months down the line I received a sms that the amount due on my account is over a R1000 after I already paid the R100 monthly subscribtion.
I ignored the sms and decided that it has to be a fault. Saterday the 5th of October, my dstv was turned off. I phoned the call centre and they informed me that my service has been cancelled because of non payment of the premium monthly amount. I told the agent that I never requested the premium service and after a lenthy check he confirmed that there was no record that I requested the change and that a query will be logged with the accounts department and someone will get back to me.
I sat the whole saterday with no tv and decided sunday morning to call them again, just to find out no query was logged and nobody is attending to my call. The agent that I spoke to on Sunday logged an internal call but was unable to enable my service because she said that the system won't allow her and that she needs manager overide and there was no manager available.
So no tv for Sunday. Monday still no feedback and when I called again Monday afternoon there was a manger available who enabled the service that I paid for. She told me that an investigation needs to be lanched and they will sort this out.
My tv was on for the whole week, Saterday 12October my service was suspended again, stating that I owe disconnection and reconnection fees due to no payment on the account. I phoned the call centre again with the same blank response and that there is no manager that can enable my service.
It is now Monday the 14th of October and nobody has called me or followed up and my service is still down and for all I care it can stay down forever.
DSTV has lost me as a client and I would not recommend them to anyone. Switching to NetFlix this week.
