The Magic is GONE!!!!!!

Remember how MNET had a slogan that went along the lines of "We won't stop the Magic"? Well, sadly DStv, the magic has indeed come to an abrupt end. Funnily enough though the subscription fee increases have not. It makes me wonder what we are actually paying for. More and more empty promises? Every time I see the ad where DStv extols the great wonder that is DStv CatchUp, I want to turn off my TV because my family's viewing experience has not been very pleasant for w hile now. Programmes do not appear on Catch Up in the time promised. Sometimes they don't appear at all. Or, they appear and then disappear. Most recently on 03/10 I was watching Episode 10 of Indian Summers. I stopped the show half way because i had something to attend to. When I returned later to resume watching, much to my surprise, Episode 10 was no longer in the line up. So many times shows are not added when they should be. It has become so bad that we have now started to PVR shows that are supposed to be on Catch Up....just in case.

Also recently, I tried to rent movies on Box Office. I received a message saying that my number was not registered, but that I could SMS my smartcard number to the number on screen. I did this and entered my new number. I received an SMS saying that my Box Office account is active and that my number had been added to my profile. Ja, right. I tried again and surprise, surprise, was sent an SMS saying: "Sorry your mobile number is not registred..." I mean, seriously guys?

But wait, there is more....I recently tried to register for DStv Now, but saw that the last four digits on the screen were from an old number. So, I called the 011 number provided and according the consultant she had updated my number. All excited, I tried to resister again.....first, I received and on-screen message saying that there was no account for this ID number. I figured it was a glitch,, so I tried again. This time, the last four digits on the screen belonged to my new number. But, guess what? No SMS ever arrived in my inbox on my phone.

If you think all of that's bad, here's the real kicker. There is no email address to send complaints to on the DStv website, so I completed the form provided and submitted it. This was over two weeks ago and I have not received either a written response nor a phone call.

This is extremely frustrating for me as a customer as I feel like they don't really care about their customers at all.
