subscription increase
Hello Peter<br> I just got my yearly increase from multichoice , and I am shocked to what a person must pay for such alot of repeats that is on the tele. The increase for the premium has gone up from 780 .00 to 879.00 ZAR . For what ?Just to see old movies that has been screened on the same medium over and over , and has been screened year in and year out. This is really not value for money. Showmax has mostly the same programs at a fraction of the cost not also to mention Netflix which has excellent viewing.Even to pay for internet and both of these online networks it still works out cheaper than DSTV .

Most of our programmes are bought in foreign currency, and due to the more than 29% depreciation of the rand, our costs have gone up dramatically. We've worked really hard to keep this year's fees manageable.
We welcome competition in the pay television and entertainment industry - we believe it is good for consumers. DStv and services such as ShowMax and Netflix, have very different approaches to video entertainment. When it comes to breadth of content, live sports, documentaries and news, the latest shows and movies, DStv delivers like no other service provider can.
We deliver the best local and international entertainment to our customers, and we do it first. We already offer a number of shows Express from the US, which air within hours of the US broadcasts.
We've done a lot of research into what pay TV costs in other parts of the world, and we believe that DStv is still one of the most affordable services you can get.
