Still Waiting - Never Got Back, Never Follow Up, Service Still not Fixed

I recently went to take up an offer where I could trade in my Old Dual View PVR for an explora combo. This included Installation to one point up to 25 Meters. After numerous attempts to just get someone to come and install via DSTV call centre, where I was send from this to that person, everyone eager to assist , everyone promising to come back to me, everyone asking me if I want to rate their service after the call.

Time went by and after a Hellopeter complaint things started happening, I finally got an “Accredited” installer to come and install the new dish and lnb. I had an extra view point, also, here I pulled the cabling myself and made everything available, all that was needed is for the installer to do his part. Halfway through the install, the installer asked me how I will pay. I kindly rep**** I have already and he should sort this from the people wo send him, He was looking for some voucher which I never got. Again I had to use my phone to get to the call centre, had to explain my situation again, just to get told, hang on I will transfer you, just to repeat, repeat, repeat…from one person to another….

Let’s go back to the guys who arrived, Arrived here with an unbranded, rusted old Honda ballade. They had to borrow my ladder, as obviously they did not have one. They looked the part of a zombie X movie with torn clothing, no branding. They could well have been ******s. It tuned out that the actual accredited installer subbed them for the installation. Worse I ever have seen – This is where issues got worse, the one TV (Extra view) will play in the one environment, the moment the other TV (Explora) is switched on it kinda leaches the signal and will play there. I had numerous calls to attempt to resolve my issue, boosted the signal, all sorts of things was tried, the final verdict by one of your reps – Your dish is most likely not properly aligned, or the installation was incorrectly done and setup – This brings me back to the guys who pitched on behalf of your accredited installer – They looked and assisted in exactly this way – Half job types. This to me was an extremely bad image of your company.

I am sure that if you follow my trail on your system, you will notice the amount of time I phoned, begging to fix your installation I paid for.

In mid November 2016 I had enough and cancelled my sub. On the 26 or 27th of November 2016 I was called by a rep – probably in your retentions department asking me why I ended my sub, I explain to him briefly what happened over the past 2-3 months. He said, and offered if he would get an installer to come and fix the problem if I would reconsider – He reminded me constantly that the conversation is recorded – I said to him ill accept 6 months free subscription, he rep**** can we not meet each other halfway, go and listen to your recording, this was an offer!!! I said to him take the recording to your management, I am open for any assistance; frankly I just wanted my stuff to work from the beginning, for which I PAID. I am the loser here. The person said he will get back to me, I even asked him agian if he would – Yes sure he would….Yeah Right

Today is Thursday the 1 December 2016, guess what – no calls have been received.

I have been a premium paying customer since 1998 – 18 years!!!, Not missed a SINGLE payment, EVER – and this is how I am treated…..

PLEASE tell me do you want me (and thousands) of other people who are aggrieved by a culture of - I don’t care - I won’t come back to you. This to me was the essence of the service culture I experienced, as it happened numerous times. When you say you will come back to me then do it!!! Don’t let me wait like a cheap blind date wondering if she will pitch up…

Bottom line, I know you have a business to run, I don’t want freebies, I expect service – and you to honour your part of services I paid for.
