Sign up for R489 a month, pay R6489 a month !

We are pensioners. We signed up some time ago for DSTV compact at R489 per month. At the beginning of April, they debited out account with R6489.00. We were shocked. The R6000 is our rent and food money. We immediately called the call centre and spoke to very nice people and got lots of reference numbers to get our money back. Unfortunately, according to them, we signed up for Mnet Gold and as such owe them R6000. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS MNET GOLD. But, they would "look into it" and "upgrade" our very serious complaint and if possible, reverse the debit order. Here is the thing: If they have done this to 100,000 customers and got R6000 from each of them, they have made a fortune through ***** ! At this stage it appears our money is lost, or in more truthful terms, ******. Be very careful to sign debit orders with this company.
