On the 28th of September 2015, I contacted the DSTV call center on *** to suspend and close my account, and the consultant advised me to stop the debit order due to the lateness in the month, which I did. I recently app**** for finance and was declined, only to find that it was Multichoice. Upon investigation on the 11th of My this year, I found that Multichoice had not registered the request to close my account with their billing department and so my account remained active untill the 11th of October where it was supended due to "non-payment" with an accumulated pro-rata amount of R279.00 showing as owing. I was subsequently registered on the ITC for account misconduct, and to make matters even worse I received absolutely no correspondence what-so-ever regarding the erroneous amount outstanding.

Multichoice quickly reversed the amout to a zero balance and acknowledged their mistake, trouble is their "delisting department", who cannot be reached by any consumer take up to 20 working days to up-date their records with Transunion ITC, which apparantly is done in bulk every 20 days or so, and as I am applying for a bond, I can't lodge a dispute on Transunion as it will take 20 business days to resolve and during this time I cannot apply for finance.

Long story short after 9 phone calls to over the last 3 days, I am still no closer to the only solution and that is a letter from Multichoice which Transunion will then act upon. It is shocking that the consultant's supervisors don't have any decision making authority and are limited to sending e-mails to a "de-listing department"

Not only is Multichoice a complete rip-off, but even whern they are at fault, you can't reach anyone with decision making authority to correct where you as the consumer have been wronged by them. My Multichoice account, which I thought was closed still reflects R280-00 outstanding for more than +180 days and a "misconduct' on my profile.

I will never have anything to do with Multichoice or DSTV again that's for sure.

It looks like I have to now make good on my threats and actually go into Cape Town tomorrow to seek restitution physically myself, and I don't hold any huge hopes of achieving that either.

It is this kind of absolute lack of professionalism that turn reasonable human beings into angry unreasonable people.

Thank you very much DSTV.... Nice.....
