Shocking arrogance & appalling service from DSTV

On contacting MultiChoice customer services centre regarding my overdue account I was shocked by the level of arrogance my querry was with.

I had simply requested clarity on how my account got into arreas when Multichoice claims to be selling a prepaid service. I simply asked was I not disconnected for the month which I did not pay for instead of being subjected to debt that I was not aware of? The person who took my call and her supervisor later on were very cleary that I either pay the outstanding amount or they will not restore my services. Everything was reduced to my ignorance for for not reading the terms and conditions. However, I also feel the company had the responsibility to explain to me their terms regarding their "prepaid service".

My argument was very simple here. If I dont pay for your services disconnect me without plunging me into debt unsuspecting. I did not expect to incur debt on the month when I did not require DSTV services. Why was I connected for the 15 days that I did not pay for upfront? I never requested any grace period and therefore except to incur no debts.

Whatever the terms and conditions are, I am disappointed with high levels of arrogance that I was treated with. And that supervisor seemed to be preoccupied with something while talking to me and showed very little interest on my and just insisted that I pay or there was nothing she could help me with.

So right now i find myself in a situation where I happen to owe MultiChoice yet they are claiming to be selling a pre-paid service. My services have been disconnected until I settle that debt which I believe I am liable for as I did need their services for that particular month yet they kept connected. I feel I was misled by Multichoice by subjecting into an unfair debt. I do not have money to settle the outsanding amount on my account.

I am now even scared to call their services as they my verbally abuse me again by highlighting my stupidity and ignorance for not reading their unfair terms and conditions.
