SHAME ON YOU DSTV

My 68 year-old mother had dstv compact for some years now. Then my father died of cancer and I had to transfer the account so that deductions would go off from her account since 2023. All went well and she continued with her compact plus account. The only problems I had was the 40 minute calls to the call center to activate a decoder that for some reason stopped receiving a signal until multichoice flipped some magic switch and it worked again, For which I had to make several calls and spent roughly R140 just to get some help over the phone. So recently I (as her legal proxy by her own choice) got these warnings from dstv that the "contract has ended" and has to be renewed. But only two options are given: compact or premium. I wasn't sure about this, so I went to my local dstv branch who comfirmed that she has no option to continue compact plus. This means she will have to pay almost R1000 to watch dstv including insurance that they forced on her (and which by the way I am not allowed to cancel on her behalf). THIS IS SCANDALOUS! She is not interested in any sports channels. She only wants to watch kykNet (144) and Judge Judy (132). Not only that, most of the channels on offer dot not cater in any way to her taste. And for R1000 per month with absolutely no discount for a senior person whatsoever?? SHAME ON YOU DSTV!
