Service disconnected without due notice

My debit order was scheduled for 1 April & was returned due to insufficient funds. Multichoice did NOT notify me of the failed debit order. On 6 April Multichoice suspended my services including PVR Functionality, without notice!
When I phoned the call centre to query this, I was told it was because my payment was not received.
I asked why I was not informed BEFORE disconnection, in order to have an opportunity to pay the due amount before services were disconnected, as payment was only 6 days late.
In the past, Multichoice would notify me if there was a payment problem and they would give me an opportunity to pay on a prescribed date, or, do a double debit order with next payment. I have never just been disconnected without notice, from Multichoice, or other service providers. This is not fair business practice. I have been a customer of Multichoice for many years and do not appreciate being treated like this, without being given an opportunity to resolve my overdue account, before disconnection.
Also, Multichoice fees are very expensive & the Bouquet options are inflexible. I am considering disconnecting my services permanently & will look at alternative service providers.
