Service Disconnected

Yesterday, 05 August 2016, my mom engaged with DSTV on Twitter to upgrade my account to premium for the month of August. First they said the Smart Card is not on her name, which I don't understand. They then advised that her service has been upgraded, but that she needs to pay R386. I paid R500 using the reference number and DSTV acknowledged receipt. Today her service has been disconnected.

How absolutely ridiculous. She has been a customer of DSTV for how many years now and pay by debit order. How do you disconnect someone's service when they requets and upgrade, which makes even more money for DSTV?

Please be advised the only payment reflects on your account is the ad-hoc debit order amount of R844.00 dated the 1st August 2016. There is no payment of R500.00 that reflects on your account, however if you have made the payment kindly provided us with proof of payment to allow us to allocate your payment to the account. That's the thing. I send proof of payment to the Twitter team who responded: "Thank you, the payment has been received. ~LTS"

I spoke to the call centre this morning and they said the R500 was reversed and that's why she was disconnected. Twitter then said it was not them who reversed it but the debit order failed.

BUT IT WASN'T A DEBIT ORDER. I paid R500 EFT.

My mom even had a credit on her account, and you couldn't wait 1 day for the payment? You just had to disconnect her immediately, take away ALL HER SERVICES for which she has already paid? Couldn't you just keep her on Compact then?

Nothing about this makes any logical sense.
