sd pvr 1
It is disappointing that the attitude of a supplier should be change or we force you too.<br> I paid good money to have a dual view pvr installed. Now that I have a firmware error on it (be1) , I'm told that it's being phased out and will not be reloaded by multichoice. <br> This now also draw me to a conclusion that it is weird that I should have such a problem at a time their phasing it out. <br> I paid for a service and expect it to be delivered . I paid for a product that I believed was the best and not to be phased out .<br> <br> Just send me a copy of it, I'll load it myself. I did pay for it.<br>

We apologise for the delayed response.
MultiChoice will not be able to repair the SD PVR decoder as the parts are not available any more. These decoders can't cope with the growing number of DStv services on offer, even though they were able to many years ago. We will also not be able to continue to support the software on these decoders.
When your SD PVR was first released, we only had a handful of channels on DStv, there are now over 100. Your SD PVR has reached the stage where it won't be able to cope much longer with the growing number of services. Your decoder may experience missing channels, an incomplete TV guide or even freeze-ups.
We're also launching a new satellite at the beginning of 2017, which will position our channels on low and high band frequencies. Unfortunately the SD PVR decoder can only get low band frequencies. This means that customers will lose out on any channels or services made available on high band. If your decoder stops working, you need to bring it to the MultiChoice branch to trade in for a newer model decoder at a reduced price.
Please note that if you need an installation upgrade you'll have to carry that carry that expense.
