RIPPING ME OFF

I've been with multi choice for the past 20 years . Currently I think they are ripping us off. My understanding is that your account is pre paid not post paid . You pay first then use and not the other way around .On 17 December 2019 I did not renew my premium subscription abd was duly disconnected , because I wanted to quit dstv but my family complained so on the 2 January 2020 I wanted to reconnect but on another package compact plus. When I called the call centre I was told I cannot downgrade because I didn't renew my subscription. Because of family pressure i paid the premium but I'm not happy. Now i see my next payment is due 17 January 2020. Im of the opinion that because its prepaid one should be able to change whenever you needed and then your new 30 days (month) commence. Because dstv has the monopoly they are ripping us/me off.
