Programs ruined by *****ic advertising
This weekend I have had to endure multiple repeats of programs. They have been shown so often that most people could write the script from memory.<br> To make matters absolutely intolerable the few programs that haven't been aired too often are totally destroyed by massive advertising breaks with no attention to program content. I have just experienced the grand finale of the ***** who controls this setup at weekends when the entire program of Top Gear was made unwatchable by breaks as close together as two minutes. These \adverts"are just fillers advertising other programs that you can only view on DSTV and are repeated so often that I sit with the mute control under my thumb. I wouldn't be as scathing if these adverts were for revenue. They are there to supposedly stretch the program to its hour or whatever. At weekends they just interrupt programs"
We are aware of the issues with the Top Gear episode at 10 last night. The teams are investigating to see what went wrong.
We apologise for this viewing experience. We're talking to BBC Entertainment to track the root cause.
Please note that majority of our channels are an external broadcast. MultiChoice/DStv has no direct control over their scheduling. Also, since we have no rights to broadcast their adverts, we replace it timeously with one of ours. It would therefore appear that we are playing adverts during their broadcast - this is not so.
