Pro rata charges!!!

on 5/5/2012 i signed up with DSTV and paid the amount that was due in that day. And basically on the 5th of every month since, my subscription was due.

When it came to January 2017, i decided not to pay and to let Multichoice suspend my services as i cannot see myself paying money to watch the same movies, series and other programs over and over again.

Then on 23 January 2017, i get a call from a young lady at Multichoice saying that i owe them +/- R166 as my service was only suspended on 20 January 2017.

My question is, why do i need to pay as my service ran from the 5th of the month to the 5th of the next month? And if you choose to suspend me 15 days later, why charge me for that???

Initially i did not pay from the 20th of the previous month...i paid from the 5th. I didnt get any freebies, so why do you want to charge me?

this is really ridiculous!!!

Dear Abdul-Aziz

Upon checking your account, we can verify that your services were only disconnected on the 19/01/2017 as result you were charged a prorated amount for the days that the service was active without payment.

Please note that you must notify us to cancel your service on or before your invoice date, yours being the 5th of every month as we cannot promise that the system will automatically disconnect the service if you didn't pay.

With that being said we have reversed charges for 10 days [10th - 19th Jan R 111.29 ] however you are liable for the 5 days [5th -9th Jan R55.65 ] since you didn't notify us to cancel the service. Kindly pay R55.65 as soon as you can to update your account.

For more info please find this link: http://www.dstv.com/topic/service-customer-terms-and-conditions-***5 for our terms and conditions.

Should you need any further information, please feel free to contact us via ***.

Elna
