Pro-rata billing for the 1st 7 days is against consumer protection

Multichoice are supposed to run a simple pre-paid contract that if you do not pay they disconnect your service (fair and simple). If you wish to reconnect then you will be charged a penalty (this is also a money-making **** couched as an admin fee, but not important here). They also create a "fictitious" pro-rata amount for 7 days each month (1st to 6th). I decided that I was unable to pay anymore after 15+ years as a customer due to financial pressures. However I am now contacted constantly by Multichoice and now Transaction Capital for an outstanding amount of R280 (the pro-rata payment of 7 days) which Multichoice believes they are owed. Very simple reality here...Multichoice are in charge of turning off my signal, not me. Multichoice fail to or decide based on operational expedience to keep my signal on for 6 days before they disconnect the service obviously for the reconnect grace period perhaps. When I do not reconnect however for a few months they deem that I must now pay for the 7 day grace period service I neither requested nor watched. If I fail to pay my Netflix or Amazon Prime subscription it is turned off by them immediately until a pay and then it is turned back on, quite simple and no problem. When I attempted to explain this to your recoveries team at Multichoice I am met with (its in the contract) and then finally prior to hand-over to Transaction Capital (we will have hand you over to the credit bureau and then court!). Yes indeed. Firstly in terms of market conduct and consumer protection, I would like to see the contract I signed (about 15 years back perhaps). I would like to see the notifications of changes to billing sent to me for acceptance or not. You are losing more customers than you are gaining and simply put attempting to collect revenue that you deem is yours due to an operational decision that says if a customer defaults and doesn't reconnect we can at least fleece them for the pro-rata payment of R280. We will be going to the ombudsman no doubt. The money is not important and insignificant, its the principle of the matter and its downright theft hidden behind corporate monopoly carelessness. If you decide to hand me over as per your threat, I will gladly take on the matter. Furthermore this pro-rata malarkey should be halted immediately and your billing and turning off of the signal once payment is missed should be immediate. Finally the last person in your call-centre who threatened me with court action, needs a lesson in diplomacy. And finally I am not ever returning to DSTV.
