Price Lock WARNING!!!!!

So, I have NEVER had any issues with DSTV and have been a loyal customer for longer than I care to remember. Through the years and various product offerings that they have made available, I have gone all the way from having M-NET only, to having a fully-fledged Explora and HDPVR extra view setup. Getting to the Explora is where I, for the first time, experienced all the issues that one so often hear about and then some! I decided to take them up on the latest “Price Lock” option, which is supposed to include the new DSTV Explora decoder, the larger 90cm dish, and also a single point installation to the value of R1200.00. What they fail to mention is that the latter does not exist, at least, not for me…

I called through and spoke to Nelson to ask about the “Price Lock” deal. He informed me that they would give me a call back, as he was not the right guy to speak to. The next day I called through again, spoke to Nobabolo, and asked her why I have not been called back? She then apologized, and went on to explain everything to me. I signed up, and asked her to please make sure that someone calls me urgently regarding the installation, as I could only be at home on a Saturday morning. She advised me that she would escalate the call, and make sure someone calls me (this is now Monday). Monday comes, and Roland calls. He explains that someone will call me regarding the installation, and that he would follow up with me. We never spoke again. Between Tuesday and Wednesday I was called by Mangele and Ditwalemo and the same promises were made, but still, not a single call was made to me. Thursday, I call again, bemused at this point, but I spoke to Nelly, and she promised me to get back to me. At this point, I have already started making my own arrangements, with the option of cancellation, should DSTV get their stories straight. Thursday passed, Friday came…. One day before installation, and still, not a single phone call from any installer, other than the one that I had called. 17H45 on Friday, my installer calls and confirms my appointment with them. At 18H15, I get a call from Nelly asking me about an installer that supposedly called. I explained that the only guys that called me was my installer, and I never heard from Nelly again. I feel like this was done very very poorly, and considering that I had to pay cash out my own pocket for the installation, I feel it would only be fair for DSTV to reimburse me with the R1200.00 as this was blatantly poor customer service and complete lack of accountability from them.

I am utterly disappointed here.
