price increase with no upgrade
i have a DSTV compact extra package with multichoice. The price increased on 01.04.16, but the service has worsened since. There are 3 channels which play the same movie at the same time. There are old movies that play and the same movies play over and over again. Is this legal for a monthly subscription to increase with worse service? I strongly believe that Multichoice is ripping customers off and are doing nothing about it!!!

We review our subscription fees every year at the end of our financial year. We want to keep bringing our customers the best international and local entertainment first, access to top sporting events and the latest news and documentaries - delivered wherever and whenever you want to watch it.
We understand your concern with repeats. However, repeats do serve a purpose - they give customers another chance to watch a show or movie they might have missed, or even to re-watch an old favourite.
Repeats also help when it comes to the amount of content a channel needs. Each year, a single channel must have 8 760 hours of content for our customers. The film studios though, only produce 1 200 hours' worth so that gap needs to be filled somehow. And it's not just our business that's run this way - pay television companies worldwide follow the exact same principle, so the purpose is not to deliberately upset anyone.
Thank you for honest feedback regarding our service.
Kind regards
Dinah
