Preposterous service from Multichoice/ DSTV

I have been a Multichoice/DSTV customer for 5 years and over.

I am honestly disappointed with the service received and i write this with so much dissatisfaction, i thought i would be tranquil about it and implode but i honestly couldn't.

So i saw a deal of R 549 via my social media accounts (Instagram and Facebook) and got interested with the deal as the deal detailed that an individual would get a explorer decoder prior to a package upgrade to a compact plus with a free installation.

I went on and enquired more from a word of mouth perspective, website, social media page and DSTV app (read more about the deal). Well upon me reading about their deal a price lock deal caught my attention where i had a chat with one of the consultants online about the deal.

I was asked for my details of which i provided and was advised that i would be contacted within 48 hours where i waited patiently to a no call, Ohk i understood that most businesses are hindered by Covid and all.

On Tuesday the 10th i decided that let me contact Multichoice to get it over and done with, Spoke to a lady whom i explained my reasons for my call to, well after all the explanation and time spent on the call i was told that i cannot be assisted as i need to contact the price lock department.

I asked if i could be transferred to the price lock department since i am being referred from a customer service perspective to the department and i was told that it is not possible as i need to contact them directly, i was provided a number +***9 to try as the consultant advised that she is not sure if the number works, WOW ohk.

So i dialed the number and with luck i got though to a lady by the name of Neo who was so professional in a way that i remained serene as i was assured good customer service from her service.

She asked for my details, i gladly gave them to her putting aside all there is to worry about, she advised that she would get a sales consultant to contact me and within the estimated time i got a call from a lady by the name of Ntlhakotsane.

Spoke to the lady and explained the reasons as to my call (like i did to other ladies), she asked if i could email her my ID copy and Proof of Res in order for her to proceed with my application. i sent her the required documentation with immediate effect.

She responded in advise that my details are incomplete as my bank statements are not included (wonder if i had to cast a spell for me to know), well i submitted the required statements with my payslip prior to avoid being told that my details are incomplete and waited patiently.

A call came through and it was Neo doing a follow up with regards to what she had promised, advised her accordingly with regards to the call received from Ntlhakotsane she then advised that she will follow up.

While i was on the line with her she advised of the feedback she has received and guess what??

"Good Afternoon M,

your application was declined due to low income . Do contact me if you need anything further"

I checked my documentation and addressee thinking that i had made a mistake of sending incorrect documentation or my application to a VAF/ Homeloans consultant and NO i sent to the correct recipients.

I asked Neo if it made sense that a salary ranging from + R 19, 000.00 to + R 20,000.00 as a take home from a basic salary of + R 25, 000.00 excluding additional payments(working times/overtime) regarded as a low income for a price lock package of +- R550.00?

Well it was also absurd for her as well, she advised that she will follow up on the matter as it is unfair and incorrectly assessed.

A call came through this morning the 11th from Pina who refused to provide her surname while acting like she can't hear me when i asked for the surname after a lengthy conversation who advised that i am a low income earner and hence i was declined.

Asked Pina if she had prepared for the call before calling me and if she had checked my documentation she said yes, WOW. so i asked her if i was applying for a Homeloan, BMW or a Mercedes for me to be regarded as a low income earner and again she said NO, like really??

I then told her that i know individuals who are self employed with a low business income/ Profit and individual's who are low income earners that qualified for a price lock of which my question was HOW WAS THE VETTING done??

Her response was it's the money you spend, GOSH!!!! i have been paying DSTV customer for so many years without fail nor reversals!!! i mean is my account proof enough??

She then told me that i must buy an ultra decoder worth R1,999.99 and a Smart LNB cable worth R329.00 then i will get a discount on TV channels like REALLY?? am i really that dumb goodness??

I feel that this is completely absurd and it is honestly upsetting, i would understand if i was told something like YOU HAVE NOT BEEN PAYING YOUR DSTV ACCOUNT or YOU HAVE BEEN PAYING YOUR DSTV ACCOUNT INTERMETTENTLY of which it's a NEVER!!..

I told her that i am taking it up and she blatantly told me that there is no problem i must take it up, is that how Multichoice treats long standing customers during these covid trying times??

Honestly Multichoice/DSTV is pulling a MIWAY on me and i am not about sinister moves.

I honestly expect call from with a resolution or i am taking the matter further.

They have my contact number and email address and i am available 24/7 should they need to contact me.
