Poor Service for expensive Prices

Since joining Multichoice the price increased by 117% +/-R350 to R759. The quality of programmes went downhill and international sport take the front line. Yesterday I got a message for the first time in 6 months on my menu portal -"You are in arrears . Pay immediately or be disconnected." Surprise the premium has once again increased by R70 from April. That's a 10% increase in a market where people don't even get increases as a salary earner. Not to say anything about food price increases, fuel increases, Interest rate hikes and a general economy which is struggling. And what happened to their claim that there will be no hike in 2016? DSTV makes on 1million subscribers (and that number is not even close- they had this many in 2005) a whopping R70 million a month???????

Call centre say I must register and check online for statements and for news on increases. My premium subcription included a programme guide and monthly statements. Which was changed without my written concent over the past few years. This is against the CONSUMER LAW/ACT!

Thanks a million, for your interpretation of MAGIC (as you advertise it). Magic for your shareholders maybe!

Martin

31401

Dear Martin Scheepers

The DStv package fees have increased since 1st April 2016. Prices have increased so we can bring you the best entertainment first. We pride ourselves on delivering your favourite shows whenever and wherever, and across a range of devices.

We’ve been able to keep our fees in line with inflation for the past five years, but recently we’ve been hit hard by the depreciation of the rand. Since April 2015, the rand's devalued by 29 percent, and as most of our programmes are bought in foreign currency, this has had a major impact on the cost of buying the very best content.

We’ve worked hard to keep our fees manageable. Thank you for your continuous support.

Regards

Elna
