Payment of DSTV online streaming service Family package but not connected after 7 days

I tried to sign my dad up for a streaming service, Family Package at R279 (R288 with subscription fee), on 31 March 2021 via the Dstv portal. I followed the simple service prompts like I would for my Netflix and Showmax service using card payment, and everything seemed to go smoothly and received a welcome email from DSTV, only to find out there was no Family Package assigned to my dad's email address and account. The money has left my dad's bank account but now Dstv wants proof of payment via a bank app beneficiary generated eft proof of payment. My dad made a DIRECT card payment and didn't do an eft so this proof of payment is not available from a transaction list from his banking app or the online banking service via the pc. His bank advised to send a bank statement with dstv's reference and date of product purchase but DSTV rejects this format so now I want to know what are they prepared to do to refund that card payment if they don't want to accept the proof of payment in bank statement form that clearly states money has left my dad's account and has ended up in their bank account? Before the issue of payment, the first calls I made to DSTV says my dad has no linked streaming service to his email and account! Something has clearly gone wrong technically during his purchase and no one is prepared to acknowledge a problem but the money is accepted and no service is attached to that payment. What an awful service! My dad has been patiently waiting for the problem to be resolved and there was a promise that this money would be allocated to have the streaming service connected and today is the 7th day since payment has been made and when for the second time today, it's told to me that the service won't be allocated if the valid proof of payment format that DSTV wants is not received. What about tracking if your received money from my dad's bank? How hard is it to do that as that is what would happen with any other service in the case of missed payments ?

This is incredibly unprofessional service from DSTV. My dad was a subscriber via the decoder since the days of MNet decoders and dstv dish service until last year when the lockdowns hit and he didn't want to be paying for a full package service anymore because it never met his needs during the lockdown. Now that he wants to turn to a more convenient service via streaming services because all he watches is Kyknet, he can't even get a product provided upon payment! This is such an unpleasant experience already and I wouldn't recommend anyone signs up if this is the obstacles one expects to get from DSTV. What a lot of grief.

My dad's name is Graham Visser. His email address is ***. His contact number is ***, or ***. If DSTV is unable to resolve this issue, then please refund his money on his card. I will gladly provide details for that.

Thank you for acknowledging my complaint. Please note that it's come to my attention that the streaming service card payment for the Family package was assigned to reactivation of the DStv decoder service that was promoted to my dad last month. Some amount of R285 for was due on his account, but my dad was NOT interested in reconnecting his decoder service at all. He expressly asked telephonically last year to cancel dstv decoder completely, and last week he went to Multichoice in Mitchell's Plain Westgate Mall to ask if his decoder account was deactivated and the consultant said it was. I did however notice that this R285 amount kept being repeated each time I placed a call to DStv's call centre. Now it says R0 is due. How does money intended for a streaming service product end up taken for the decoder service a customer was clearly not interested in? We have no access to our decoders anymore and would like to keep it that way as entertainment technology has long time moved on to online streaming services that is more convenient.
To me this seems like aggressive marketing that doesn't take into account the customer's needs, and just assumes a payment made under a customer's ID number is meant for a decoder service. It's not my dad's fault that his streaming service payment was automatically assigned to the decoder service at the price that was marketed to him. This is an issue that needs to fixed on DStv's end. You allocated money to the wrong service. It shouldn't cost the customer more time and money on their end to fix your problem.
