Pathetic "service"
I reinstated my DSTV to a Compact Plus package on the 5th Sep and paid R449. Unfortunately it did not have the Rugby so I then asked them to upgrade to a Premium package and they said the amount due was R857,14 which I paid on the 20th Sep. I checked online and it was showing that I needed to pay R809 + so I also paid this amount on the 23rd. On the 24th - the screen was showing *your account may be in arrears* and I have had no DSTV service at all. The premium service only just started working on the 28th September so I called and spoke to Zecona ref number: ***0C2. I told her that my paying guest has left without seeing the rugby and that I was highly embarrassed that after having paid over R2000, the service was not provided - I have suffered reputational damage as my apartment was offered with DSTV services included – which the guest did not get. I said that now I was not interested in having DSTV anymore. She said that I can’t cancel the subscription now and that I would have Dstv until end of October. I asked for the account department’s details but she said she can’t give it to me and also that she didn’t have it and she would not look it up for me. I have called about 10 times to DSTV at a high cost to me as I am in Australia and no one is willing to help me. One lady told me to send a message to their WhatsApp and that would assist me. It was useless. To me this constitutes ***** and misrepresentation as services that I paid for (overpaid for) were not rendered. All the other consultants were unhelpful – they all said they would escalate the issue and call back, to date no calls. None of them would let us speak to a manager or the accounts department. It was like hitting a brick wall. Today I called and spoke to Mblenhle – she was unwilling to help as I want a refund for the premium service which I did not receive. She says I can only cancel it at the end of October. I insisted on speaking to her manager and she said he was in a meeting, when I asked to speak to her manager’s boss, he was also unavailable. She would not give me any names or allow me to talk to anyone above her. She eventually put the phone down on me.
