To whom it may concern

I must say that I am very dissaponted with the service that Multichoice is giving me as a customer I believe I am being treated unfairly and will have to see if i can get Legal assistance with regards to this Matter

A while ago i purchsed a decoder then missplaced it before I could register the account now recently i found in when I tried to activate i was told that system does not allow to activate the account because this is a Legacy decoder. Am happy to keep the same device I don't need a new decoder but because of the Multichoice system it cannot be done I don't understand why if a device has been improved why don't they have a service for maintain for the customers who still hold the old device it is unfair that i need to buy a device when I have 1 and cannot use it.

MultiChoice Hello Peter team
Best regards,
Dear Bontle
Thank you for bringing your query to our attention.
MultiChoice’s aim is to give our customers an evolving (and better) viewing experience. To this end, we regularly launch new channels and services, but these can be quite demanding on your hardware.
These decoders are classified as Legacy “end of support”. They don’t have the processing power and memory to deal with our new services. This means your viewing will be impacted as you won’t be able to get some of our channels or you will experience freeze-ups.
We are not able to service these decoders as parts are no longer available.
Kindly click on the attached link to find out what trade-in options are available for legacy decoder: https://www.dstv.com/topic/dstv-decoder-lifecycle-***1?utm_source=seeded%20search&utm_medium=topic
Please feel free to contact us should you require further assistance.
Kind regards

Best regards,
Thanks for the immidiate reply
However still not satisfied with the response as I had already looked at the trade in options however I was advised because the Account was not activated the Decoder can not be traded in and I am now stack with a device that I cannot use I must say this is shocking service to say the least
