Basically Multichoice should consider a name change. We operate a Guest House and have 32 decoders, we offer our Guests what used to be known as a "Hotel Bouquet", this was the basic channels which addressed the needs of the traveler both domestic and international. (Mnet/MM1/MM2/SS1-7/TV1/TV2/TV3/eTV and other free to air channels to mention a few.)
This was retailed at R245.00 per month / per decoder up to March 2018 when it was increased to R255.00 per decoder / month. Now as of 01 December without much information being provided to their Clients (us) and definitely no customer survey that we were involved with, as customers of 21 years in the BNB/Guest house industry you would think we would know what our Guests want and could add value to the changes, MC has decided to s**** the SS1 and MMPremier, channels and if you want these you have to UPGRADE to R375.00 per decoder / per month. in my view a very shrewd way of repackaging the channels to increase revenue - definitely not in the interest of the consumer/traveler. Roll on competition to a company that has actually become a monopoly in this country and the corporate decision makers have lost touch with the end-user. It will be a good day when we have either a internet based sports program channel or another competitor in the Digital TV industry.
