No Pensioners Discount for an 80-year old - DSTV Multichoice

Today I had to engage again with DSTV Multichoice about my 80-year-old fathers account. The situation is that my mother originally had the contract with DSTV Multichoice and was a client for 40 years. She sadly passed away, and we needed to change the ownership into my father's name. So, instead of noting that the SmartCard has been registered for so many years (to the same family), they start the account again. I made manual payments for January, February, March & April to keep the account up to date for my dad.

Now, with the increase premiums, it's getting a bit much, as my father is 80 years old already, I ask if they have a pensioners discount. First, they say I need to register for rewards and I can claim it there. Then, no I can't claim it yet, the account must be in place for 3-years to be able to claim a Pensioners Discount for someone that was a pensioner by law, already 15 years ago. Why does a pensioner have to wait 3-years to get a pensioners discount? This is atrocious service to a pensioner. Someone that earns a small pension every cents counts. How can you make a pensioner who is already legally a pensioner, wait for pensioners discount???????

No wonder you are losing customers at a large rate as you are becoming unaffordable and the service is shocking.

I think you need to re-think this approach. You need to look after your elderly. Some of them only have Sport and TV Programmes as their entertainment and keeping them active.

This is just ridiculous!!!
