Multichoice Pricelock Explora ****
I am in the process of cancelling all connection with DSTV. I have had the worst customer service experience in my life these past 24 months after signing that Pricelock Explora contract.
Everything was polite and fine when I was being asked to sign on and the deal looked like a good one since I already was paying for DSTV premium. I was asked to set up the debit order for the R899 premium I was to pay for the next 24 months, little did I know that this was a set up that would cost me thousands.
The first 3 payments went off with no issue and so I was happy that things were fine. THEN month 3 Multichoice did not debit my account and I emailed them and no response, called in and was told I could not be put through to the billing department and somebody will call me back. Month 4 same thing happened and then a consultant called me to TELL me that I have to make a payment arrangement because I hadn't paid. I explained that firstly I have a debit order set up and secondly I was told I can't call the billing department so it was 100% their fault. After the agent apologised I agreed to a payment arrangement that was suppose to take my monthly instalment to R999! Multichoice deducted R1798 from account! I emailed them to tell them to reverse it because I have an arrangement in place FOR THEIR MISTAKE and never got a response, even the call centre was useless and always promised to escalate and I would get a call back. I decided to cancel the debit order and pay for myself.
It continued this way until Multichoice cancelled my subscription, I called and told them to look at my records to verify my story and was reconnected. I was reconnected every second week for the next 8 months with ME HAVING TO CALL MULTICHOICE AND TELL THEM I AM STILL WAITING FOR THEIR BILLING DEPARTMENT TO CALL ME! I eventually got frustrated and called in asking to cancel with immediate effect and again the consultants told me that cancellations team would call me and nobody called. I then stopped paying for DSTV entirely so that they would call. Nobody did! the 24month contract ended last month and it is only now that it has registered with them and they are telling me I need to pay R12 000. My DSTV is currently off, I asked the last consultant that called me Kameel (and her supervisor Refiloe) that they can keep it off and I want nothing to do with DSTV. I have since got uncapped fibre and a smart tv, couldn't be happier.
