Multichoice not living up to its name
I have a DSTV extra view Premium account (R699) with extra view as well as an Explora Decoder Plan (R99) and I watch on average 2-3 movies on box office at a cost of R30.00 each. All payments are deducted via debit order as they have been for many years without any problems. I also make a monthly EFT payment against my sisters account, which is not linked to me.
A month ago I started receiving E134 error messages that said that there was no communication between the primary and secondary decoders. I had it sorted out and then two days ago received an sms that my viewing was being suspended as my account was in arrears. I assumed it was sent to me in error but my viewing was suspended. I queried this and although it took a 30 minute telephone call from my cell phone, it was sorted out and I thought that was the end. On 15 October 2015 an amount of R2120.90 was deducted from my account - the usual amount is closer to R878 plus whatever my box office amount. I'm now told that I need to reverse the payment if I want it to be refunded in less than 40 days.
Why should I accept this? Should I not expect Multichoice to fix their own errors. Have I not been inconvenienced enough already?
