Multichoice New Decoders and Instability
What has happened to Multichoice and the DSTV decoders? Our old system, that worked perfectly, was struck by lightening and we had to buy two of the new decoders to do the work that one did. Getting the new units functioning took us several days of calls to Multichoice. We would have one unit working and then the other would fail. This went in circles with the system saying our connections were faulty, but they were installed by a professional installer. Operators were trying to assist us, but sadly the technology was letting them down along with shocking phone line connection (the Multichoice call message, when calling them, is just an example). I was not going to post this, but today I had a call from Multichoice wherein the caller started out firstly by saying their insurers had asked her to call then she told me our decoder was outdated. I told her that our units were replaced only days ago and I am not interested in their insurance as we are covered in our householders. Sadly at this point my exasperation with Multichoice was showing she abruptly told me to let her finish and when I said to her to go ahead she harrumphed and put the phone down...... Maybe, as some of my colleagues say, it might be time to just go over to Netflix and get my news feed on air. At no point has anyone from Multichoice even hinted at an apology for the run around and the costs we have had to carry in calling out the installer several times because the technology is not stable during setup.
