MultiChoice just don't care

I was in hospital from the 4th of January until beginning of May and therefore my daughter contacted Multichoice to suspend my service temporarily.

I moved to Oudtshoorn during May and asked them to reinstate my service again. They informed me to buy a new decoder with a new smart card. My old smart card was cancelled and the new smart card was activated under my name. I paid the re-connection fee as well as the pro-rata amount calculated by them for the few days of May. I also completed forms with all my new details and signed a debit order with my banking details. They failed to deduct my monthly instalment so I paid via EFT every month. I received messages in June, July and early September to pay random amounts to prevent them from ending my services. I transferred the money immediately. I also paid twice with my debit card at the local multichoice shop where they assured me that my account was up to date and that they “hope” the problem is solved. My services was disconnected 3 times and I was charged R50 every time to be connected again.

I phoned the local multichoice shop and call centre several times when this problem occurred but they just told me they do not know why it happened. One of the consultants suspect that I am charged for somebody’s else’s arrears. She promised me she will follow this up with the accounts department but never solved my problem. The last time (on the 3rd of September) when I had to phone after my services was cut off again the call centre inform me that I had a credit of R189 but she unfortunately cannot tell me why my services was ended.

There is certainly a lack of competence and the people do not know how to solve customer’s problems and just blame the system.

I am in a wheel chair and cannot imagine my day without my television because it makes my days shorter and my programmes give me something to look forward to. Will you please address this problem and help me to solve it. Thank you for helping desperate people and just know that it is appreciated.
