MultiChoice Insurance

I have been a customer of MNet and then DSTV for thirty years. I have had insurance on my decoders for while now only find that when something went wrong the MultiChoice angency cannot help me as they no decoders to swop. To make matters worse they do not think they will have for a long time.

My question: Why am I paying insurance if I can't be helped when something goes wrong.
