Multichoice - Inept service
I have been struggling for the last month to get Multichoice to reactivate a debit order that has been active for the last two years . How it became inactive I do not know and apparently neither do Multichoice ! The debit order for box office runs with no problems ! They have suspended my services 9 times since the beginning of September and with every suspension the catchup movies and series are "lost" and never appear again . I also get charged a R 150.00 reconnection fee which hopefully they have reversed as I do not receive statements either ! At present there are two movies on the catch up service . Every consultant promises to escalate the problem and is very happy to re-instate the services and despite that within a few days the service is again suspended and the whole process starts again . Considering the price of the Multichoice subscription R 1000 per month this is totally unacceptable . Apparently the "lost " movies and series is now due to my decoder not working notwithstanding that there was not problem with my decoder until they started suspending the services every few days . This country requires another option which enables dissatisfied customers another option except for Multichoice . If not for the family I would cancel this subscription forth with!

Best regards,
Dear Karen Erasmus,
It is with regret that we learn of the frustration and inconvenience you have experienced with our service. Please accept our sincerest apologies in this regard.
Our intention is certainly not to provide a sub-standard service to our customers.
The debit order is active on the account and has not been cancelled. Our records indicate the account was previously on Price Lock and when the Price Lock contract ends the services are switched to normal DStv billing.
On the 17th of August 2018 the system switched to normal billing and transferred the amount of R750.00 to the normal residential account.
The amount was then not enough to enable the service to run till the end of the billing cycle. At the time the services were suspended on the 26.08.2018 the system only sent the debit order Meg tape for the amount R103.77 for the residential account that was debit on the 30.08.2018, including R140.00 for Box Office. This is the error on the part of our system, and not the debit order system which is active.
Currently the services are active on the account, all the reconnection fees have been reversed and the account adjusted accordingly. The monthly subscription on the account is R954.00:
- R809.00 for the DStv Premium package.
- R90.00 Access fee for the PVR functions.
- R35.00 decoder insurance for the Explora decoder.
- R20.00 decoder insurance for the Standard decoder.
Our records indicate the Price Lock on the account should have ended on the 28th of July 2017, however, the system continued to billing the incorrect amount of R750.00 and this was only rectified on the month of August 2018.
We will bill the monthly subscription that is due for the current fees. Only the prorated amount of R26.21 is due for payment.
The amount of R954.00 will be debited on the 30.09.2018 including the balance of R105.00 due for the Box Office account.
Should you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us send an email to *** .
Kind regards
Edward.
