Multichoice Condoning Accusation of ****** Against Customer

I was phoned on Friday 26 July 2019 on my cellphone at 09h44 by a DSTV/MultiChoice agent who offered me one of their products. I said to the agent that I was busy, but that I was interested. I asked him to phone me back on the Monday 29 July 2019. I continued my discussion with my colleagues without ending the call from the Call Centre agent. I said to them that it was a Call Centre agent who offered me a product and that I am interested. When I realized that I was still on the call, I ended the call on my cellphone. Within seconds of me ending the call, I received a call from the same call centre agent who started accusing me of having made ****** remarks. The more I tried to calm the person down and trying to explain that I didn't say anything ******, the more he carried on to accuse me of ******. I eventually put the phone down, and immediately tried to get hold of someone to help me but to no avail. In frustration and highly offended, I sent an e-mail to *** on Saturday 27 July 2019, giving them a brief account as to what happened, and that I am intending starting a defamation case against MultiChoice. Later that Saturday, I received an e-mail from DSTV with a reference number ***, and a message that they will get a team leader to respond to my complaint, within 8 hours. Nothing transpired, and on Wednesday 7th August 2019, I personally visited the offices of MultiChoice, and spoke to Palesa Mosenogi who is the PA to the Head of Legal. She advised me that Bruce Mkhize will be of assistance with my complaint. On the 19th August2019, 11 days after my visit to MultiChoice I sent a follow up e-mail to Palesa Mogonosi advising her that I have not heard anything from Bruce Mkhize. She rep**** on the same day saying that Bruce Mkhize was away on business until that Friday, and that he will be in touch with me. Nothing transpired after this except that we sent a lawyers demand letter asking for the call centre recording which we wanted to listen to in order to formulate our defamation case against MultiChoice. Bruce Mkhize still didn't reply. On the 6th of January 2020 we sent another attorneys letter from CWA attorneys to Mr Bruce Mkhize asking that the voice recording be made available to us, to consider our options. In reply Mr Bruce Mkhize asked that we tell him from which number this call was made to me and what product was offered. I couldn't tell the number as it reflected as a private number on my cellphone. I did however reply that the product offered was an explora dstv device. To date MultiChoice and Mr Bruce Mkhize has chosen to ignore my requests, and with respect have come up with a totally lame approach towards this very serious matter. I find it most disturbing that that a corporate such as MultiChoice has been condoning this accusation of ******, and as a matter of principle, I will be taking up this matter with all the necessary organisations and institutions.
