MultiChoice, claims it lost over 100000 DStv Premium subscribers in its last financial year
MultiChoice, which operates DStv, claims it lost over 100000 DStv Premium subscribers in its last financial year from the “unregulated” competition it faces face from “over-the-top” (OTT) internet streaming services like Netflix. Most Premium subscribers have internet so MultiChoice can expect that number to increase as current contracts expire and not be renewed. Perhaps one way for MultiChoice to retain subscribers is to allow subscribers to create their own bouquet, and to be charged accordingly. It would not go amiss for MultiChoice to pressure Showmax to install the facility so that sub titles could be available. Sub titles are available on Netflix. Did MultiChoice enter into an agreement with the wrong internet streaming servicein its last financial year from the “unregulated” competition it faces face from “over-the-top” (OTT) internet streaming services like Netflix.
