Multichoice and its complicity in transphobia
<p>DSTV has decided to stoop to the transphobic whims of Nigerians and stop airing I am Cait. The company is complicit in the erasure of trans lives and this is not acceptable. If the Nigerians (or anyone) do not like the program they should stop watching it. This program helps bring to light some of the issues that transgender people encounter- it helps some audience members understand what being transgender is. When DSTV decides to pull this show out, not only is this censorship but it is also very transphobic. It is grossly unfair!</p>

E! Entertainment is a channel we share across many African territories, including Nigeria. The Nigerian Regulator has advised MultiChoice that the programme: “I Am Cait” transgresses its regulatory code, which is why the series had to be removed from the channel.
MultiChoice however still provides a large variety of entertaining and educational programming, and continuously strives to appeal to every lifestyle through its diversity of content.
