This is my story My name is Marius ******tze DSTV Account Number : *** I contacted DSTV after I had a problem with my two decoders. George Hammanskraal DSTV. I got a message on both decoders saying they could not pick up a signal. The DSTV dealer said I would be contacted by a DSTV technician. I presumed it was a technician that worked for the company not an outside contractor. A **** artist and HOSTAGE taker. I was contacted by Wahte Jones Company Dish technicians I was told by, a DSTV technician he would be here Friday 11 August 2023 At 13.00 pm He arrived with an assistant. Two black men In a white BMW No markings on his car about being a company or a DSTV technician. I showed him the errors on the decoders. He looked at all the problems and did not give me a quote on the work he was going to do, and the cost involved. He just started working immediately. He replaced the eye on my dish. He replaced some TV cables. Not even two meters He replaced a little junction box behind one decoder. After completing the work that took no longer than 30 minutes he sat down and sent me an invoice via my WhatsApp to the value of R 9500.00. I rejected the invoice. He subsequently deleted that invoice and sent me a new invoice to my WhatsApp. I had to pay him R 6985.00 Immediately He did not leave the property and held my wife and I HOSTAGE until we did an immediate EFT to his account for the amount of R 6985.00 We paid him accordingly as we were petrified for our lives and safety. He then left. Now I have never been one not to pay for services rendered. I have always been one to pay for services rendered. But I have been ****med and held HOSTAGE by Multichoice. I do believe that this man and his partner has ripped us of and ****med us as well as hold us HOSTAGE for the payment. I do believe Multichoice and DSTV must investigate this case. This person his company and his assistant Dish technicians N PHUTHENI NR LESHABANA I noticed on the invoice that the vat number was the same as his cell number.

I urge MNET and DSTV to look into this matter very very seriously as these are the people who are doing work for MNET and DSTV and ****ming people and holding them HOSTAGE for payment.

I spoke to Matshidiso at Multichoice who promised to look into the matter and would sort it out. ***

More than six weeks has gone by and still nothing. No word from Multichoice

I do believe you have to be a MNET and DSTV agent before you perform any work on people’s decoders etc. Not a **** artist and a HOSTAGE taker.

I write this to warn the people in South Africa about Multichoice and DSTV

They are quick to take your money, but this is the service they offer. Multichoice send people to your house who are **** artists and HOSTAGE takers.

Please take the time to consider a Multichoice or DSTV contract in the future.
