Less than one star rating !!!

I signed up for the compact price lock plan. It was towards the end of the month so i was told my first deduction would be the end of the next month with the subscription amount plus a pro rata amount that came to about R700. Curious about this arrangement i asked why is it that because we used to pay the subscription in advance and i was told now that payment will be in arrears. That month went past without any deductions. I checked my balance and there was an amount of about R1200 outstanding. At this point i called in to clarify this matter and i was told not to make a manual payment since the price lock plan only works via debit order but my query would be escalated and the money would be deducted in a week. Another month went by with no deductions. Suddenly an amount of nearly R2000 was deducted from my account for 3 months worth of subscription. I called in again and was now told that payment is in advance and not in arrears after having a back and forth with the consultant who had the worst attitude you can imagine for a customer care consultant i ended the call after i was basically refused the service of someone listening to my calls to get to the bottom of the story (why are all their calls recorded i wonder. If a client is not allowed access to thise recordings) i tgenreported the matter on dstv website and got a call back where I explained my situation i was promised a call to give me feedback which up till today never happened.

In march my account was debited with an amount of R390. I called in again to clarify the matter with no result. So this month my account is debited with the outstanding amount plus normal subscription. Once again i call in to clarify the matter and i get to speak to Pearl a supervisor who assures me she will escalate the matter and i will get feedback the next day. I wait nearly a week with no feedback. I call in again yesterday and was promised a call back after 3pm today. Surprise surprise no call.

I am so fed up with this poor customer service. I am stuck in a 2 year contract. I agreed to pay R539 for the 2 years but my account gets debitted with these sporadic amounts. I get absolute no feedback when promised and i have to use my own resources to fix problems that is not my fault. I am on a strict budget and cannot afford to have my account debitted with R2000 at one time and still waste time and money calling these blithering idiots that clearly cannot perform their duties. Why must consumers be bound to contract if providers can just do whatever the hell they want to do breaching contracts how they see fit. I expect to pay the amount that i agreed on and not be inconvenienced by a company that cant even get debit orders right. Pathetic ****ty unprofessional ********* and down right ******* business practices by dstv. I deeply regret applying for this price lock package.
