I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the service I’ve received from DSTV.

I purchased a DSTV decoder on 10 May 2025 at Gugulethu Mall in Cape Town. At the time of purchase, I was clearly informed by the representative that installation was fully included in the package and that everything would be completed within the following week.

While the installer did come out and install the dish, the decoder was not connected to the TV, and the setup remains incomplete. I was not advised that I would be expected to complete this part of the installation myself. If full installation is included, then it should include connecting and setting up the decoder as well — not just the dish.

This has left me confused and frustrated. I paid for a complete installation service, and that is what I expect to receive. If customers are required to handle part of the installation themselves, that should be made clear from the start. Otherwise, this amounts to misleading information and false advertising.
