Incorrect information provided to customer from multi-choice call center agent
i had an extremely disappointing experience with multi-choice in this past 3 years. the first incident happened a while back when i had contacted multi-choice contact center to find out how much was my installment for my DPP account for that current month, in the month i had contacted multi-choice call center quite a few times, each call center agent that i had spoken to had given me different amounts that i needed to pay, after the conversation with the second agent i decided to record all my conversations with the call center agents as i needed proof to show that call center agents do not know what they are talking about. eventually the last agent i had spoken to had told me that i do not need to pay anything as i have a credit that would last me for 2 months, myself shocked i had asked the agent are you sure that this is true so that he could he redeem his words to make very sure of what he is saying, he had said yes absolutely (i still have the recording to prove my case). and being that as it may i did not pay for the two months which resulted in my account going into arrears and my name getting bad at the credit bureau"s (which i was also not aware of). eventually a lady called me to tell me that my account is going into arrears and i need to pay ASAP, so i had explained to her what had happened and asked her what is actually the story behind this. she had explained to me that even though that was the case i need to still pay multi choice the arrears amount and all following agreements. many of the agents i had spoken to had told me that i should know what my installment is as it is my duty to know what is on my contract. eventually i went into the branch at centurion mall to speak to a manager by the name of Sipho ( who was very helpful) he had also stated that i need to pay it and that necessary precautions had been taken towards that call center agent, eventually after a long struggle and that help i had got from sipho, i had decided to pay the account in payment arrangements that was supposed to be made by the "payment arrangements" department of Multi choice unfortunately i am still waiting for their call to this day, i am still paying it off till this day.i am typing this email today because firstly i am still in possession of those recordings and i don't want anyone else to suffer the same fate as i did, it is not fare firstly for me to lose so much money over a mistake that was made on their side as we all work hard for our money and i am not a high earner in regards to salary. i feel it was very unfair what had happened and i am deeply disappointed in multi choice.
