Incorrect Billing

I changed my payment date, they added a fee for the additional days i added on. They further disconnected my service and requesting me to pay for the re-connection fee. But why am I being disconnected when I am paying for the additional days fee? The service gets cancelled when one defaults payments, but i didn't default any payment, why am i being charged so much ?? am i not paying for the excess days??
