I CANNOT FIND THE CORRECT TITLE FOR THIS REVIEW.......
I do not even know where to begin or what to do. If there is anyone out there who has dealt with DStv (Multichoice), please respond to this review and perhaps advise on how to deal with this company/and or share your experience. I have always had a bad history, no - HORRIFIC relationship with Multichoice, it could take a whole book to write about my terrifying experiences that always left me traumatized by the so-called DSTV Customer Services. This began early this month the 3rd of February 2020 when I received a notification to pay an amount of R699.00. I was surprised as I have always paid R647 and usually I would make a round figure of R650.00. My account was never suspended to a point of having to pay a reconnection fee. The same day later, I received another notification to pay an amount of R1300. I immediately called and the consultant that took my call explained that the error is from their billing system, somehow, I was double billed. He further ensured me that it will be rectified within an hour. When I checked yesterday 17 February 2020, nothing was fixed on my account. According to the consultant I spoke to on the 3rd of February 2020, (it was supposed to have been sorted out on the day I called and WITHIN an hour). The recent encounter with Multichoice (yesterday, 17 February 2020) was despicable to say the lease, as I was on the phone with a consultant, I asked for his name and surname and he introduced himself as Hlumelo NKONYENI (Xhosa speaking). I doubt if he gave me the correct name. All the time with him on the phone, he kept saying 'yes mam' sarcastically and in between our conversation, he could not stop laughing with his colleagues. At some point, I think the joke on me was getting worse and when it happened he would ask me to hold on and continue to laugh hysterically with his friends/colleagues. He eventually confirmed with me that indeed I was double-billed and it will be sorted. However, when I asked for a reference number, he responded by saying he is only there to answer calls and not to give out reference numbers. I asked to speak to his superior, he said he has already escalated my query to the supervisor. I then asked to speak to the 'the supervisor' he told me they could not come to the phone. I asked him to at least email me as a confirmation that the matter was escalated. This is when he said he is not mandated to email customers. All this time, he was having a time of his life at work laughing non-stop.
