HD PVR vs HD Explora *******

Well..well..well. 3 Months after my HD PVR State of the Best Technology - Multichoice introduced Explora and a few years down the line, upgrade and made it all better. Thanks. Now..if you want to watch a new release movie on your HD PVR (I've paid R3.400 for that...yes!) it will not be possible, because the Hard Drive cannot accomodate so much moview on my HD PVR. This means - I'm paying DST Premium Subscription with 60% of services that available to Explora users....and I have no choice but to buy a New HD Explora to enable me to do this. Now Multichoice upgrade and renew and leave all their oldest customers behind...not offering to replace the now useless piece of equipment with their upgraded technology, but still you will pay exactly the same for DSTV Premium.

After 2 hours on Boxoffice Website (Took them about 45 min to answer the LIVE CHAT) I was duly inform that all movies are not loaded to Boxoffice, and it's only available online (again the guy missed the point as I've told him clearly it's marked for both stream and PVR) Facebook respond with the same but eventually explain that my equipment is too old....thus I need to buy now and Explora HD PVR to enable me to get the same services as exisitng Explora Clients, whilst paying exactly the same subsctiption. The chat was ended. Multichoice failed to comply to their exisiting customers or offer ANY solution to accomodate HD PVR customers on DSTV Premium Subscruption to enable the same services that Explora Customers receive. I have constant disconnection from customer service in this regard - I want a good explanation from you.

Good day Philip

PVR model decoder prior the EXplora are not able to handle the capacity of the bigger HDD that comes with the Explora. This is one of the main reasons why the Explora was introduced. The Explora itself also faced a challenge with the growing demand for new movies. Our online service and Internet connected Explora were then introduced in order to meet this growing demand. However, a connected Explora can only access Catch Up movies that have already aired on the channels. A lot of them are relatively new but not as new as BoxOffice or DVD releases. These are what customers want to see.

Our online service currently provides 106 movies in total, that are available for rental without having to have an active DStv subscription. BoxOffice movies eventually make it to DStv channels, however, not all. With this being mentioned, customers can rest assured that the Mnet team is working hard to bring them the latest blockbusters on the Mnet Movies channels.

Regards

Girly

You miss the point Girly - what is Multichoice doing for their customers with HD PVR Decoders? Nothing....absolutely nothing. Multichoice bring out models and a year later change them (to comply for bigger demand), but still sell the new model with absolutely NO incentive to the exisitng customer who supported Multichoice since 1986. So yes...my HD PVR cannot accomodat all your Booffice movies, I cannot connect to the internet and download or stream anything with my HD PVR...and still I pay the same price for a service that my HD PVR cannot do, because Multichoice changed their BUSINESS MODEL to make extra monies from existing customers.
