Handed over to debt collectors after cancellation

Good day

I have just received a phone call from a debt collector as I apparently owe Multichoice/DSTV over R500 for a service I havent had since the beginning of February.

Not one phone call was made to me for an outstanding subscription payment - except a call in March asking me why I cancelled my subscription.

I phoned Multichoice now and there is no record of me phoning to cancel my subscription. In fact, I made 3 phone calls to you - one end of January where I was told to phone back on the 5 or 6th of Feb to cancel. I phoned again on the 6th to cancel and i had to phone again on the 7th as my account was debited and i was told to reverse it as Multichoice couldn't do it from their side.

So to recap, I am now handed over to debt collectors (which has negatively impacted my credit report) for a service I did not want nor recieved and was never notified of.

I am expecting a phone call and apology.

Thank you
