Frustrating experience with DSTV

Okay so a few months back I cancelled DSTV as we switched over to Netflix however on the 14th of June reactivated my DSTV account for the world cup. I called, was told I would be billed a pro-rata for the Compact package of R141.00 and the services will be activated. The debit went off while on the phone with the Agent and thought everything was okay. Went home connected the decoder and found out the account was no active, had to call the call center again which is really annoying(The options sucks), and spoke to another Agent who told me that they will activate it. While on the call, the channels started working, asked if there was anything else and I said no, just confirming that the compact was active and that my bill would be for the package at the end of July. Annoyed having to call twice, I thought to myself about keeping the DSTV account active for sports reasons however that changed today. Got an SMS 7 days after activating saying that they have suspended my account as I owe then R545.72 and that my account will not be reactivated until this amount is paid. Guess what, had to call the call center again as the DSTV app doesnt give you a breakdown of the charges, just the amount due, so called and had to go through a few options before finally getting to talk to someone. Sarcastic guy, really unpleasant to talk to speaking to me like I'm a ******** seriously. I was told the service is active and that the SMS is wrong but that I do owe DSTV the amount. Told him I dont have an issue paying the amount and wanted to know why after the third call nobody had to me of an overdue balance on the account of R180.00. DSTV over the last few months had not reached out to me and said anything, I am more annoyed about calling you guys. Anyway, guys explanation what really bad, had no idea what he said so asked for a breakdown of the charges. Told him I would pay it today but would like a breakdown to see myself. Was told he has to transfer me to a department that will send me my statement, how annoying, asked him to email it to me and was told it would take 24hours to DSTV to send you an invoice via email as it has to be escalated. All in all, my experience was ****, annoying, frustrating and infuriating. Def cancelling after the world cup and stream my sport online.

Okay, so got home and found out that my account was suspended after being told by your voice operating service that the service is active and the last agent I spoke to. Called in and spoke to Tabang who clarified everything for me(still confused). First of all the guy that activated my service told me that the R141 that you guys debited was the pro rata for the DSTV compact, that was a lie, that was the pro rata for the old package I had(so I was told), secondly, the guy I spoke to earlier told me my services will be active and that the debit of R545 would cover all the charges on July 25th,that was a lie, services were suspended because you guys didnt collect the pro rata for the compact package which you were suppose to do within 48 hours of activating the service, this leaves me confused as the service has been active for 7 days, apparently the pro rata of R141 was for the arears and was told I'm no longer in areas, still not sure what the full story is until I get my bill which takes 24 hours to receive even though this is 2018. So now they debiting me R160 something tomorrow, not entirely sure of the amount just wanted to watch the soccer thats all. Anyways, R300 airtime later and I'm still confused as hell..... Thanks tabang though for activating the service but the experience up until now has been worse than calling telkom.... never thought Telkoms bad customer service would be topped. R141 = was told this is pro rata for access package, then story changed to say its for arears and activation fees, still unsure what this was for. R160 plus = This is now apparently for the compact pro rata fees, hope fully this is true. Should have been collected within 48 hours according to tabang R345 = Was told this would be my bill end of July and not R545, doubt this though.... R300 = Money spent on airtime calling you guys collectively on four different occasions. Bought a R100 airtime just to speak to tabang...
